Due to available budget, the hiring rate will not exceed $35.04 per hour.
This position oversees shift Lieutenants and manages facility operations, ensuring safety, security, and order within an adult correctional facility.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience in an adult correctional setting, law enforcement, or military, with at least two years as a Correctional Officer Lieutenant. Military or law enforcement supervisory experience may substitute for up to one year of the Lieutenant requirement.
This position is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment and random drug testing, pre-employment Academy screening, and successful completion of the New Mexico Corrections Academy. Must possess a valid NM Driver's License, be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, of good moral character, and pass background checks and physical/aptitude tests.
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, involving daily contact with inmates. May include odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
