Job summary

The State of Utah is seeking individuals to join the Utah Department of Corrections as Correctional Officers in Gunnison. Earn an hourly wage from $31.52 to $40.24 with a path to a substantial first-year compensation, including a $6,000 signing bonus and ongoing career opportunities.

Training through POST and a strong benefits package are included. Location at Central Utah Correctional Facility, Gunnison, UT, with in‑office duties and a comprehensive background check.

Qualifications

• Meet SFO Standards
• Meet POST Standards
• New hires shall not have tattoos above the shirt collar line
• Preference may be given to those currently in Public Safety
• Must be at least 19 years old before Academy start date

Responsibilities

• Supervise offenders in our care and custody at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison, UT.
• Maintain safety and security of facilities and support related career paths.
• Participate in training, transportation, programming, CIRT and investigations as opportunities arise.
