Job summary

Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry in Florence, AZ is hiring Correctional Officer 1 at the Eyman Complex. This position begins with training through the 13-week Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA) in Tucson, with a 12-month probation following graduation.

You will perform security, supervision of inmates, reports, and emergency responses while upholding safety and professional standards in a high-security facility.

Qualifications

• Strong ethics and integrity required.
• Must be physically fit and able to perform duties in a correctional setting.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• U.S. residency proof and background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure security of inmates within the facility perimeter.
• Supervise and guide inmates.
• Perform searches and conduct pat/strip searches as needed.
• De-escalate incidents and maintain safety.
• Prepare and complete reports accurately and promptly.
• Fulfill assigned post duties and respond to emergencies.
