An established industry player is seeking dedicated Correctional Officers to ensure the safety and welfare of the inmate population. This limited-term position offers the chance to contribute to a rehabilitative environment while adhering to strict security protocols. The role involves working under the supervision of the Assistant Camp Commander, where you will support the mission of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. This position is limited term for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or becoming permanent.
It is located at CC#03 Trinity River in Lewiston, CA.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Camp Commander, the Correctional Officer is responsible for the custody, supervision, security, health, and welfare of the inmate population, as well as the care of equipment. The role includes ensuring security coverage of the camp facility and boundaries. The officer actively supports CDCR's vision and mission by promoting a rehabilitative environment and providing a safe environment through skills consistent with CDCR standards. Duties must be conducted professionally at all times, in accordance with California Code of Regulation 3391, Employee Conduct, and the supervisor must be kept informed of any unusual or emergency situations.
Individuals eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

Working Conditions: This position requires overtime and travel.
Special Requirements: Candidates must be permanent, full-time Correctional Officers who have completed the Correctional Officer Apprenticeship Program to be eligible for an interview.

New applicants to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice must undergo background checks via Live Scan Fingerprinting and Tuberculosis testing before appointment, with annual testing thereafter.
Per California Department of Public Health orders and CDCR directives, staff may need to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination and booster, unless a valid medical or religious exemption is approved.
