Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring immediately for a Correctional Officer who provides security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units and during meals, recreation, and work assignments.

You may use weapons or force to maintain discipline and order as needed. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; training is provided (and where applicable, a state-licensed security officer credential). Must be 18+ and able to work any shift.

Qualifications

• Criminal justice experience is preferred or required.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED; completion of mandated training provided by CoreCivic.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, meals, recreation and work assignments.
• Maintain order and security; may employ weapon or force to ensure discipline.
• Be available to work any shift and perform a variety of posts (armory, housing, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.).

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions

requiring criminal justice experience.

You may be a fit for this role if you:

• Have a high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• We train you to be successful: Paid training, and where applicable, be a non-commissioned security officer licensed by the state of employment (we pay the cost for you).
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Can demonstrate the ability to complete any required training.
• Are available to work any hours, any shift.
• Are at least 18 years of age.
