Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring a Correctional Officer to provide security, care and direct supervision of inmates in housing units, meals, recreation, work assignments and other facility activities. You may need to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to complete required training. CoreCivic is a Drug-Free Workplace & EOE including Disability/Veteran.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) is required.
• Must be able to work any shift and be assigned to multiple posts.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to complete required training.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• Be able to work any shift across posts (armory, housing, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.).
• Veterans’ service is recognized for qualification in roles requiring criminal justice experience.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions requiring criminal justice experience.
