Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring a Correctional Officer to ensure security, care and direct supervision of inmates in housing units, meals, recreation, and work assignments. You may need to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order in a secure setting.

Veterans are encouraged to apply. A high school diploma or GED is required, and paid training with state licensing where applicable is provided. You must be able to work any shift and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Criminal justice experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, care and direct supervision of inmates in housing areas and during meals, recreation, and work assignments.
• Use force or weapons when necessary to maintain discipline and safety.
• Maintain order and security across multiple posts including armory, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation.
• Be available to work any shift as assigned.

The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility. You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
• CoreCivic recognizes your military service to qualify you for positions

requiring criminal justice experience.
