Job summary

CoreCivic is hiring a Correctional Officer to provide security, care and direct supervision of inmates in housing, meals, recreation and work assignments in a secure facility. You may be required to deploy weapons or force to maintain order and safety.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and be able to complete required training. We offer paid training and benefits, including a 401K, PTO, healthcare, and certifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• You must have a high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
• Paid training and, where applicable, be a non-commissioned security officer licensed by the state of employment (we pay the cost for you).
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Can demonstrate the ability to complete any required training.
• Are available to work any hours, any shift.
• Are at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• The Correctional Officer provides for the security, care and direct supervision of inmates/residents in housing units, at meals, during recreation, on work assignments and during all other phases of activity in a correctional facility.
• You may have to employ weapons or force to maintain discipline and order.

• You are responsible for maintaining order and security of inmates in a correctional facility.
• You must be able to work any shift, as you may be assigned to a variety of posts including, but not limited to, armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, visitation, etc.
