This role emphasizes strategic direction, staff development, recruitment, scheduling, and on-call leadership to sustain safety and operational excellence in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing in state of practice.
• CPR certification.
• 2–3 years of clinical supervisory experience; correctional experience preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, and implementation of nursing policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with contractual and regulatory standards.
• Oversee the delivery of patient care through the nursing process, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Coordinate orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for nursing staff.
• Manage recruitment, retention, and performance evaluations of nursing personnel.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care.
• Serve as a clinical resource and provide guidance to nursing staff on patient care and protocol adherence.
• Monitor daily clinical operations and review outpatient and infirmary reports.
• Act as on-call leadership for nursing-related issues and emergencies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administration to coordinate patient care.
• Lead and participate in committees like Quality Assurance, Infection Control, and Utilization Review.
