Job summary

NaphCare is seeking an experienced Licensed Counselor/ therapist (LCSWs, LCMHCs, etc.) to join our team at the Arizona Department of Corrections facility in San Luis, Arizona. You will assess, diagnose, and treat residents with mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders in a secure environment.

The role requires active licensure, a Master’s degree in counseling or related field, and a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in mental health care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• Active, unrestricted licensure as a mental health professional (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, LPCC, etc.) in state.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA required).
• Minimum 3 years' clinical experience in mental health care or acute care; correctional healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders; discharge planning and psychotropic meds.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure while assessing patients and developing interventions.
• Effective communication for building rapport and coordinating with staff.
• Strong organization to track treatment plans and progress notes.
• Ability to interact with diverse patient populations.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in residence with mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
• Collaborate with medical, mental health and correctional staff to ensure quality care and safety.
• Document mental health evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans; prepare reports.
• Provide individual and group counseling; develop educational materials and programs.
• Monitor compliance with policies and standards; participate in hearings and case management.
