Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at the Hillsborough County Jail in Tampa, FL. The role collaborates with correctional officers and medical professionals to deliver counseling and mental health care to residents in a controlled environment.

Applicants should have, at minimum, 3 years of clinical mental health experience, active licensure in good standing (LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LMHP/LMSW/LISW/LPC/LPCC), and strong documentation and communication skills

Qualifications

• Must hold an active clinical license (LCSW/LCMHC/LMFT/LMHP/LMSW/LISW/LPC/LPCC) in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical mental health experience, preferably in correctional or acute care settings.
• Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health evaluations, treatment planning, and progress notes.
• Provide individual and group counseling in a correctional setting.
• Maintain confidential records and comply with ACA/NCCHC standards.
• Collaborate with security, medical staff, and program coordinators.
