The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, be an EMT-P with current Texas credentials, or have completed a certified medication aide training course. Additional qualifications include CPR certification and experience with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED equivalent is required.
• Must have current EMT-P credential from Texas Department of State Health Services.
• Passing score on State medication aide exam is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and document medications for TDCJ inmates.
• Maintain drug room security and equipment upkeep.
• Enter medication compliance into TDCJ pharmacy system.

Skills

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR)

CPR certification

Previous correctional experience

Education

Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent

Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) certification
