Job summary

Fidelity Partners is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the Federal Correctional Institution Herlong in Herlong, CA. The LVN will provide direct nursing care, administer medications, and support chronic-care clinics within the Health Services Department.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Vocational Nursing program and a current CA or NV LVN license. Prior correctional healthcare experience is preferred; all required background checks and security clearances apply.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Vocational Nursing program.
• Must maintain a current Vocational Nurse license in California or Nevada.
• Must perform only duties within scope of licensure.
• Experience with inmate population or correctional healthcare is helpful.
• Must satisfy BOP/DOJ background, security, residency and access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services staff.
• Administer prescribed medications and assist with pill line distribution.
• Monitor patient responses and communicate concerns to clinical personnel.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as skin testing, venipuncture, EKGs and other authorized tests.
• Document care and maintain confidential clinical records.
• Maintain infection-control procedures and safe handling of sharps.
• Assist with chronic-care clinics and preventive care for inmates.
