Job summary

California Correctional Health Care Services seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Corcoran State Prison in Kings County. The LVN provides basic and technical nursing care under provider orders and RN guidance, addressing inmate health needs and coordinating with the health care team.

Under supervision, you’ll contribute to efficient health care delivery, communicate with patients, and support cost-effective resources while upholding safety and humane care within the correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Provides basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in a correctional health care setting.
• Works under supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III and the guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Collaborates with physicians and health care team to ensure timely health care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care under a provider's order and the clinical direction of the RN, CF.
• Addresses ongoing patient needs and promotes efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources.
• Communicates effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
• Participates in the Personal Leave Program adjustments and other administrative requirements as applicable.
