Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Belton, TX seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join a correctional care team at the Bell County Jail. You will work under a registered nurse, performing essential patient care, medication administration, exams support, and rounds to ensure safe, competent care.
Requirements include Texas LVN licensure (or transfer), CPR, and graduation from an approved nursing program. New grads must pass the NCLEX-PN on first attempt.
Employees in this classification are responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX. They work within their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Work is performed under the direction of a registered nurse as part of a total correctional managed health care team in providing safe and competent care to patients.
Current Vocational Nurse License in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of vocational nursing within 120 days of applying for a position. Current CPR certification. Graduated from an approved, accredited nursing program. New graduates must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX- PN) on the first attempt. No experience required.
