Job summary

MEDIKO seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse to deliver direct patient care in a correctional setting at San Benito County Jail, Hollister, CA. You will administer medications, monitor patients, assist with treatments, and document care to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates have active licensure, a high school diploma or GED, and 1–3 years of healthcare experience. CPR/BLS certification is required; benefits and comprehensive PTO accompany the role.

Qualifications

• A current, valid state licensure to practice in the applicable role (LPN/LVN, CMA, RN, etc.).
• High School diploma or GED required; degrees in healthcare preferred but not mandatory.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in correctional or regulated settings.
• CPR/BLS certification required (American Heart Association/AHA guidelines).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, assess conditions, monitor vitals, and administer prescribed treatments and medications.
• Conduct initial screenings on entry and provide ongoing care during the patient’s stay.
• Respond to sick calls and health concerns with appropriate care or referrals.
• Respond to medical emergencies with first aid and emergency care as needed.
• Document patient progress and coordinate with physicians on treatment adjustments.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
