Position responsibilities include supervising correctional officers, observing offender behaviors, conducting rounds, investigating disturbances, and assisting with training. A physical exam and valid driver’s license may be required.
Minimum qualifications: at least three years of custody experience, including one year as a Correctional Sergeant or Senior Probation and Parole Assistant with the Missouri Department of Corrections, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Military experience may substitute for custody experience.
Some positions qualify for shift differentials and pay increases based on years of service. The department promotes internal advancement and recognizes distinguished service.
