Job summary

Worksourceheartofgeorgia is seeking applicants for correctional supervisory positions in Georgia. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED along with Georgia P.O.S.T. certification and at least one year of experience in a correctional role.

Preferred qualifications include supervisory experience and an Associate's degree in a relevant field. This opportunity is open to current GDC employees only.

• One year of experience at the lower-level Correctional Sergeant or equivalent.
• Six months of experience as a first-line supervisor of correctional officers.

Completion of Associate's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field

Job description

High school diploma/GED, Georgia P.O.S.T. certification, and one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Correctional Sergeant (PSP064) or position equivalent.

Preferred

Qualification:

Six months experience as a first-line supervisor of correctional officers assigned to a variety of security posts such as housing units, offender work details, perimeter security, back gate security, etc. This preferred experience may be included in the one year of full-time experience as a Sergeant; OID Sergeant; or Sergeant, Construction Services; necessary to meet the minimum qualifications. Or completion of at least an Associate's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a directly related field.
