CBH Medical is seeking a Night Shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Meherrin River Regional Jail, Virginia, to provide direct care in a correctional setting and support 12-hour night shifts.

You will assess inmates, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and document care while following safety and infection-control protocols. A Virginia LPN license and BLS/CPR certification are required, with a stable schedule and opportunities to grow in a unique clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program.
• Active Virginia LPN license, or a multistate (NLC) license.
• Solid knowledge of nursing care principles and practices.
• Ability to recognize signs of mental illness, emotional distress, and substance use disorders.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and administering PPD (TB skin) tests.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct patient care to incarcerated individuals
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, and record patient health data
• Support sick call and assist providers with procedures
• Administer medications and maintain accurate MAR documentation
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
• Conduct rounds and document patient progress
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Maintain medication security, including narcotics counts and accountability
• Assist with patient transfers and complete required reports
• Perform other duties as assigned
