Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Correctional Intelligence Officer to join a dedicated team at a maximum-security facility in Indianapolis. You will review digital video, monitor communications, and investigate incidents affecting staff, inmates, and the facility.

Essential duties include gathering evidence, preparing reports, and testifying as needed. A HS diploma with relevant experience qualifies, with extensive benefits and learning opportunities provided by the State.

Qualifications

• Specialized knowledge of investigative practices and security procedures.
• Working knowledge of Federal laws, Indiana codes, and Department of Correction policies.
• Understanding of due process and criminal/civil liability.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents and gather evidence and testimony.
• Conduct criminal investigations and produce reports and criminal intelligence.
• Gather evidence, recover, and label items considered evidence for internal/external cases.
• Inspect facility to determine security concerns and ensure ACA compliance.
• Participate in trials and provide expert testimony in court hearings.
• Observe offender activities and report issues.
• Investigate correspondence between offenders and staff for compliance with Indiana codes.
