Colorado Department of Corrections seeks an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant to provide medical care to inmates in Sterling, Colorado. You will perform examinations, diagnose, treat, and manage chronic conditions in a clinic, infirmary, or special needs facility, with on-call responsibilities and travel to other sites as needed.

The role requires Colorado APN or PA licensure, prescriptive authority, and strong clinical judgment in a correctional setting.

Formación

• Must hold current, valid licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Prescriptive authority as issued by the State of Colorado (DORA) and the DEA is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for inmates in clinical settings.
• Prescribe medications from the CDOC formulary per CDOC guidelines.
• Conduct sick calls, emergency and chronic care clinics as assigned.
• Perform examinations, order tests, and provide direct patient care for offenders.
• Travel to other facilities to assist during staffing shortages.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure continuity of care.
