Job summary

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an Electrician for Sheridan Correctional Center. The role covers routine inspections, repair and installation of electrical systems, and brush seating/replacement across all buildings at the facility.

Minimum qualifications include completion of an electrician apprenticeship and four years of journey-level experience, or eight years of journey-level experience. Work hours include day shifts with specified schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires high school completion or equivalent.
• Requires completion of an electrician apprenticeship program and four years of journey-level electrician experience; or eight years of journey-level experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine maintenance inspections as per work order system.
• Repairs and maintains electrical switchboards, panels, and components.
• Installs and maintains electrical systems at the facility.
• Seats and replaces brushes.
• Performs other duties within scope of electrician work.
