Job summary

The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau, Alaska, seeks an Education Coordinator to plan, develop, budget, implement and coordinate educational and vocational programs, and to maintain the prisoner computer lab.

This role supports rehabilitation and public safety, requires a Bachelor's degree in education or related field and one year of journey-level paraprofessional experience; a background check and PREA considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social or behavior sciences or a closely related field.
• One year of journey level paraprofessional experience in educational or vocational education programs or services.
• Additional qualifying work experience may substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, budget, implement and coordinate educational and vocational programs within a maximum-security prison.
• Maintain the prisoner computer lab and ensure program integrity.
