CBH Medical is actively seeking a Dental Assistant for a per-diem position at Meherrin River Regional Jail. The role involves assisting the dentist, taking X-rays, recording vitals, maintaining infection control, and supporting patient care across multiple dental specialties.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Review patients’ medical histories and record vital signs.
• Serve as infection control officer by developing protocols and sterilizing instruments.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide post-operative instructions for oral care following procedures.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
• Take dental impressions for study models and other diagnostic purposes.
• Perform administrative and office management tasks using a personal computer.
• Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and suppliers—handling scheduling, phone calls, billing, and supply orders.
• Support direct patient care across multiple dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery.

About the role
