A leading company in West Virginia is seeking a Correctional Counselor 1 to provide essential services to juveniles. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing vocational education, crisis intervention, and other supportive services to help juveniles overcome challenges. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and entails various responsibilities that contribute to the rehabilitation and development of youth within the correctional system.
Under general supervision, the Correctional Counselor 1 will function as a member of a team providing services to an assigned caseload of juveniles. The work of the Correctional Counselor 1 will consist of providing a variety of services to the juveniles and duties may vary as to job function or area of specialization. Areas of responsibilities include transporting juveniles to and from the center, assisting and providing vocational education, substance abuse education, assisting with recreational services, providing crisis intervention, assistance with need and/or risk assessments, classification, and acting as a role model for the juveniles. Will perform other duties as assigned.
