Job summary

MEDIKO is hiring a Medical Assistant (MA-C) to support licensed providers in a Washington correctional clinic. You will perform vital signs, assist with exams, administer injections, collect specimens, and maintain medical records under supervision.

The role requires WA MA licensure, completion of an approved MA program, and CPR/BLS. 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in corrections, is advantageous; HS diploma required with an Associate/Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• Current valid state licensure to practice as an MA.
• Completion of WA DOH approved medical assistant program.
• Pass one state-approved MA certification exam (CMA/RMA/NHA/NCMA/AMCA).
• High School diploma or GED is required; higher degree preferred.
• 1–3 years in healthcare, preferably in correctional settings.
• Active CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories and vital signs; prepare for clinical care.
• Assist with examinations, minor procedures and specimen collection; perform EKGs as appropriate.
• Administer injections (IM/IV) under supervision.
• Document clinical activities in medical records and support inventory management.
• Collaborate with healthcare and security staff in a correctional setting, following safety protocols.
• Support patient education and clinic workflow efficiency.
• Assist with Medicaid 1115 Reentry Waiver intake and care coordination as needed.
