Job summary

Hamilton County, Ohio is seeking a dedicated behavioral health professional to oversee residents' caseload and program records in a correctional facility. You will assess needs, plan treatment, and coordinate counseling services while maintaining confidentiality and coordinating with community resources.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral sciences, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and experience with a correctional population is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral sciences; knowledge of the criminal justice system.
  • At least one year of work experience with a correctional population preferred.
  • Licensure as Social Worker, Professional Counselor or certification as Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of individual caseload and program records for residents.
  • Meet with residents and communicate progress updates.
  • Teach classes and large groups on facility curriculum.
  • Provide discharge planning services to ensure successful transition.
  • Assess residents’ needs to determine treatment plans.
  • Perform intake procedures for new residents and orient to rules.
  • Apply behavior management to residents’ behavior.
  • Provide crisis intervention services.
  • Attend staff and related meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and implement individual and group counseling services.
  • Establish relationships with treatment facilities and the public.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of information.
