Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is seeking new Correction Officers. This hourly position starts at $26.83/hour with paid training and opportunities to advance into specialized units.

After 10 weeks, the rate increases to $29.81/hour with potential overtime, shift differentials, and meal stipends. Base schedule is 36.25 hours/week with rotating shifts and mandatory overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• No prior correctional experience is required.
• New Correction Officers receive comprehensive, paid training through the Connecticut Dept. of Correction Training Academy.
• You will develop skills in communication, decision making, safety, security, teamwork, and working effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
