The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office (“MSO”) is seeking a qualified professional to work as a Correction Officer in Food Services at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction in Billerica, MA. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position covered under a collective bargaining agreement (NEPBA, Local 500). The position is flexible, with a schedule between 9:30 AM and 9:30 PM, and days off on Tuesday/Wednesday. Candidates must be able to attend a thirteen‑week MSO Correction Officer / Basic Training Academy.
The selected individual will be cognizant of the confidential and sensitive nature of working in a law enforcement agency and must comply with all institutional rules regarding safety and security.
This position requires working in a correctional facility on a 24/7 basis, including weekends, nights, and holidays. Staff may be required to work overtime, stand and walk for prolonged periods, lift up to 100 lbs, restrain inmates, and work in adverse weather conditions.
Starting salary range is $66,822.49–$69,942.49 plus additional incentives, bonuses, and employment benefits provided through the collective bargaining agreement.
