Job summary

The Salvation Army Sarasota Area Command in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Full Time Regular ministerial staff member. The role supports community programs, staff coordination, and ministry planning. A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior ministerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities include planning ministries, maintaining records, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring program success. A valid Florida driver's license is required; a Level 2 background screening will apply.

Job Details: Job Location: FLA-Sarasota Area Command - Sarasota, FL, Position Type: Full Time Regular, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: $23.51Hourly, Travel Percentage: Up to 50% , Job Category: Ministerial, Hours: 37.5 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in the promotion of Corps growth and plans as well as Army programs and services in the community.


• Assists in supervising and coordinating corps program activities; helps ensure programs are properly staffed and that materials and supplies are available.


• Assists in planning, preparing, and leading specific Corps ministries programs; assists in maintaining program records and ordering supplies and materials; assists in coordinating field trips and guest speakers; assists in coordinating tutoring and mentoring programs.


• Assists to ensure all statistics are sent to Divisional Headquarters as required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures and driving a vehicle in moderate to heavy traffic. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of the work time. Duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, walking, and/or driving a motor vehicle. Duties may also require the ability to lead and participate in recreational and/or athletic/sports programs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU : EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.


• Two years experience participating in ministerial work desirable,


• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid State Driver’s License.


• Valid State of Florida Commercial Driver's License may be required if Corps vehicles include school bus size vehicle. (Must meet the guidelines provided by the state, DOT, and the automobile insurance provider as pertaining these vehicles.)


• Must be a uniform wearing Salvationist in good standing to meet program requirements.
