Job summary

Premise Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Full-Time Fitness Specialist to provide care to employees in our Fitness Center. You will guide participants, create personalized exercise prescriptions, and deliver engaging group classes with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field, plus certifications such as CPT, CPR/AED, and First Aid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field is required.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Personal Training certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Group Exercise Primary certification preferred.
• 1+ years of fitness industry experience (corporate fitness preferred).
• Ability to perform fitness assessments and prescribe exercise.

Responsibilities

• Guide and motivate participants to increase activity and behavioral change.
• Develop one-on-one exercise prescriptions based on fitness history and goals.
• Provide excellent customer service to participants and client partners.
• Assist with fitness incentive programs, wellness events and recreation offerings.
• Provide leadership according to ACSM guidelines.
• Conduct member recruitment and orientation for new members.
• Perform gym administration tasks and track equipment maintenance and retention.
• Circulate the fitness floor and assist members with programs.
• Ensure member safety with routine facility monitoring.
• Teach multiple group exercise classes each week.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
