Job Overview

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Vice President for our Payment Clearing Operations within Corporate Treasury. This role involves leading a team responsible for payment processing, reconciliation, and operational controls across various payment rails, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and enhancing payment infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team responsible for payment clearing, settlements, and reconciliations.
  2. Gain expertise in payment systems such as ACH, FEDWIRE, Checks, SWIFT, CHAPS, SEPA, FPS, RTP, etc., and apply this knowledge to optimize payment processes.
  3. Oversee daily operational controls to ensure timely payments, accurate reconciliations, and resolution of process exceptions.
  4. Develop and maintain a robust risk management framework, including compliance with regulations and internal controls.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders across divisions to improve payment infrastructure and client service.
  6. Participate in recruitment, training, and development of team members.
  7. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and participate in audits.
  8. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to payment processing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial services operations.
  • Strong understanding of global payment systems and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex processes and lead teams effectively.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years in payments, cash management, or related functions, preferably in a large bank.
  • Experience with large-scale initiatives or transformation programs.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build global networks.
