Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required; eight (8) years experience may be substituted.
  • Certification in construction trades (e.g., Master Welder, Master Electrician) or NCCER is preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of subject‑related industry experience required.
  • Community college, university teaching, or corporate training experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Deliver classes at client location/facility.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Excellent presentation skills in oral and written communication.
  • Attend discipline‑specific certification classes as needed for licensing.
  • Repair, maintain, and operate relevant machines and tools.
  • Climb a ladder to retrieve and replace materials and supplies as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a diverse environment.
  • Teach day or evening classes at multiple sites around the city.
  • Use current technology and computer software programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communicate effectively with diverse professionals, community, and students.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse backgrounds and disabilities.
  • Inspire and motivate students in a learning‑centered environment.
  • Self‑disciplined and able to manage others effectively.
  • Customize training content to fit client objectives.
  • Apply learning theory and motivational, perceptual, emotional forces to the learning process.
  • Apply leadership theories and guiding techniques to motivate individuals under various situational conditions.
  • Keep up‑to‑date on current developments, policies, and procedures.
  • Present innovative ideas for new curricula combining traditional and industry schedules.
  • Meet deadlines for reports and required paperwork.
