Job Description: Corporate Team Training Manager

*This position will be based in Chicago, Tampa or Detroit*

Role Overview

The Corporate Team Training Manager designs, implements, and oversees the execution of comprehensive training programs across all company and franchise locations. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with regional leadership to ensure brand consistency, operational excellence, and a "guest-first" culture. The ideal candidate translates high-level operational strategies into scalable training tools, comfortably transitioning between drafting corporate curriculum and leading on-the-floor rollouts.

Reporting & Relationships
  • Reports to: Director of Operations
  • Key Stakeholders: General Managers, Culinary Team, Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum & Instructional Design: Design, update, and maintain all corporate training materials, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), digital learning modules, service manuals, and visual aids for both Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH).
  • Train-the-Trainer Programs: Build and manage a certified trainer program. Coach, evaluate, and certify regional and in-store managers to ensure training is delivered consistently across all markets.
  • New Restaurant Openings (NROs): Lead the corporate NRO training task force. Oversee onboarding, culture immersion, and operational readiness timelines to ensure successful, efficient location launches.
  • LMS Administration: Manage the company-wide Learning Management System (LMS). Oversee content scheduling, monitor completion rates, and ensure mandatory compliance training (e.g., food safety, responsible alcohol service) meets legal standards.
  • Cross-Functional Rollouts: Collaborate with the Culinary, Marketing, and IT departments to design and execute training timelines for new menu launches, limited-time offers (LTOs), and technology rollouts (e.g., POS updates, inventory software).
  • Performance Metrics & ROI: Track and analyze key training metrics—such as 90-day employee retention, guest satisfaction scores (OSAT), and speed of service to measure program effectiveness and regularly report findings back to the Director of Operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in corporate training, instructional design, or talent development specifically within a multi-unit restaurant or hospitality group.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Education, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with modern Restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Aloha) and corporate Learning Management Systems (LMS). Experience with e-learning content creation tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Canva) is a plus.
  • Certifications: Active ServSafe Manager certification required. Professional training credentials (such as CPTD, CPLP, or specific hospitality coaching certifications) are highly preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel 25% to 50% of the time to support field operations, audit locations, and lead NROs.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and move for extended periods (8+ hours) during restaurant openings and on-site field training.
Core Competencies
  • Scalable Thinking: Ability to turn complex, high-level operational guidelines into simple, repeatable training steps for frontline employees.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of managing moving parts, deadlines, and multi-department teams during large-scale corporate rollouts.
  • High Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional presentation and relationship-building skills to engage everyone from executive leadership to hourly team members.
