Job summary

Marsh seeks a Corporate Tax & Insurance Advisor to join our Operations team in Austin, TX. This hybrid role requires three in-office days weekly and focuses on ensuring surplus lines placements are compliant while supporting brokers and internal partners.

You will review escalations, manage filings, and build regulator relationships across jurisdictions, with a licensed broker or the ability to obtain within 90 days. A strong client focus and tax advisory capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surplus lines insurance, tax requirements, and compliance standards.
• 3+ years of experience; surplus lines experience strongly preferred.
• Active P&C broker license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Review escalations with client- and market-facing teams to confirm surplus lines placements before binding.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and timely submission of documents to the surplus lines processing unit.
• Guide colleagues on placement workflows to support on-time filings.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulators across assigned jurisdictions.
• Serve as the primary contact for escalations, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
• Stay current on state statutes, regulatory changes, and surplus lines requirements.
• Advise on tax issues and remediation efforts within assigned territories.
• Mitigate fines and penalties by ensuring all placements meet coverage and filing requirements.
• Partner with Compliance on investigations, client-related issues, and corporate projects.
• Identify and raise opportunities to streamline surplus lines processes.

As part of our Operations team, you'll help ensure surplus lines placements are fully compliant while supporting brokers and internal partners across complex transactions.

What you need to have:
