Overview

Job Responsibility

Alpha Media is seeking a full-time Corporate Staff Accountant in our Corporate office, located in Portland, Oregon. This position can be done remotely from within the United States. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. The Corporate Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing and handling advanced-level accounting, management reporting, and financial oversight over different reporting units (markets) across the country.

Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

  • Assist in managing the entire financial close cycle for 6 or more of Alpha\'s 44 reporting units (markets).
  • Reconciliation of cash accounts to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Review prepaid expenses and accruals for accuracy.
  • Review market financial statements for accuracy.
  • Interact with, instruct, and train local managers over the markets.
  • Communicate findings, both good and bad, to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
  • Lead select duties of the annual audit.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Requirements of this position include:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience; Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment with various levels of staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Proficiency with Excel is a must.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a remote work environment.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressures and deadlines.
