About the Team

We're expanding our security engineering team to protect and scale a 24x7 global infrastructure powering DoorDash’s marketplace for consumers, merchants, and dashers. Our work directly impacts the security, usability, and resilience of tools that enable our employees to move fast while staying secure.

About the Role

The Corporate Security Engineering team develops and scales defenses that safeguard DoorDash’s corporate environment, allowing employees to work securely from anywhere. From endpoint security to zero-trust architectures, we design controls that protect data and empower the business to operate faster and more securely.

Your goal is to make security usable and scalable—eliminating bad habits and reducing click fatigue by integrating security seamlessly into workflows. Occasional travel may be required for planning and maintaining relationships across Security and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security measures to protect company data from unauthorized access and misuse.
• Build secure, scalable environments using modern principles like "secure by design" and zero-trust architecture, moving away from traditional VPNs.
• Ensure endpoint-to-endpoint security, verifying user identities and access levels.
• Collaborate with Security Operations teams—Threat Response, Detection Engineering, and Security Platform Engineering—to execute cross-functional projects.
• Architect, implement, and operationalize security solutions interacting with all data classifications across a global workforce.
• Evaluate and optimize security tools and vendor solutions for maximum value and effectiveness.
• Engage with employees, vendors, and partners to identify security challenges and develop balanced solutions.
• Work with IT to enhance device and identity security solutions.
• Translate security policies into workflows that employees can adopt seamlessly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of security engineering experience or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven success in implementing scalable security controls in platforms like Google, Okta, and Slack.
• Passion for optimizing security controls to balance security and business needs.
• Strong threat modeling skills and understanding of security risk evaluation.
• Ability to work iteratively and prioritize progress over perfection.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse environment and wearing multiple hats.
• Experience with Git, Terraform, and cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Data Security solutions.
• Hands-on experience in BeyondCorp or similar zero-trust environments.
• Development skills in Golang, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions.
• Familiarity with logging, SIEMs, and networking tools like Tailscale, Chronicle, Snowflake.
• Experience securing macOS and ChromeOS environments, with some Windows experience.

Compensation

The starting pay range for this role is $159,800 to $235,000 USD, based on location, skills, experience, and market conditions.
