Job summary

Farm Credit of Florida seeks a Corporate Lender Markets professional to develop business opportunities with corporate agribusiness borrowers, negotiate loan terms, and lead risk analyses for large, complex lending relationships.

You will manage relationships with major borrowers including processing companies and cooperatives, to expand market presence while adhering to Association policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or agriculture or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five to eight years agriculture-related credit work experience or commercial finance or relevant agriculture management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service on the assigned portfolio.
  • Knows the area served and assesses competition including products and pricing.
  • Implements a marketing strategy for current borrowers and potential customers and strives to be the lender of choice.
  • Maintains a current list of existing customers, referral sources, prospects, centers of influence, key people in assigned sales area/community and calls on them regularly.
  • Participates in trade/civic/community organizations to increase business opportunities.
  • Refers residential loans/leases/crop insurance opportunities to team members.
  • Is knowledgeable of products and can easily explain loan options, interest rates, repayment terms and collateral requirements. Gathers relevant information for the selling and underwriting process.
  • Determines creditworthiness of loan requests and coordinates with underwriting process. Utilizes delegated authority to make credit decisions on loan requests and communicates decisions to customers.
  • Closes loan requests per policy and procedure and responds promptly to customer questions and concerns.
  • Documents use of good judgment by complying with laws, policies and procedures.
  • Determines eligibility and provides appropriate scope of financing. Verifies borrower information when appropriate.
  • Requests timely, quality financial information and production records.
  • Uses differential analysis techniques and assesses risk factors and implements controls to counterbalance risk.
  • Accurately and timely classify loans, using risk ratings and loss given default (LGD) guidelines.
  • Is proactive by developing loan servicing plans for monitoring credit risk.
  • Takes corrective action, corresponding on delinquent accounts. Ensures timely follow-up on compliance issues.
  • Counsels customers seeking solutions to financial problems and is responsive to requests for loan treatments.
  • Works closely with other lenders, analysts, and Loan Servicing Team to maintain Association standards and business plan goals. Serves on Loan Committees when appropriate.
  • Monitors the loan portfolio for any natural, economic, or catastrophic events that would potentially affect loan performance and credit quality.
  • Monitors the customer’s financial situation, loan performance and repayment ability.
  • Conducts timely field inspections of collateral or request new appraisals when appropriate.
  • Uses government guarantees to mitigate risk. Ensure your portfolio meets ACA revenue goals.
  • Makes proper decisions, adequately documents and explains work. Perform other tasks as required or assigned.

Job description

The Corporate Lender Markets and develops business opportunities with corporate agribusiness borrowers by providing sound credit solutions and related financial services in accordance with Association policies, standards, and procedures. Negotiates loan terms and structures, performs comprehensive credit and risk analyses, and develops appropriate servicing strategies for large, complex, and sophisticated lending relationships. Demonstrates extensive knowledge of agricultural production, agribusiness operations, and industry trends within the Association’s market area and is recognized as a trusted financial expert. Develops and executes business development strategies to identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and expand the Association’s market presence. Works with the Association’s largest and most complex borrowers, including agricultural processing companies, cooperatives, and similar entities. Manages credit relationships that often require complex loan structures, syndicated or participated lending arrangements, and customized financial solutions to meet borrower needs while maintaining sound credit quality and portfolio performance. Candidate must be located within the Farm Credit of Florida Territory.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or agriculture or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years agriculture-related credit work experience or commercial finance or relevant agriculture management experience.
