Job description

A sophisticated New York boutique law firm is seeking a 4th- or 5th-year Corporate Associate with significant M&A experience gained at a U.S. law firm.

This is a transactional role for an attorney who has meaningful experience drafting and negotiating principal M&A documents, including purchase agreements and related transaction documents.

The practice includes M&A, financings, corporate governance, commercial agreements and strategic transactions across a diverse client base, including companies and investors in the cannabis industry.

Qualifications

• 4th- or 5th-year corporate associate
• J.D. from a U.S. law school
• New York Bar admission
• Current or recent U.S. law-firm corporate transactional experience
• Substantive M&A experience
• Hands-on drafting and negotiation of principal transaction documents
• Strong client-facing and communication skills
• Comfortable representing clients in the cannabis industry

Platform

• Approximately 1,500 billable hours
• Hybrid schedule – approximately 3 days/week in NYC
• Direct partner and client exposure
• Compensation: high-$100Ks to low-$200Ks, depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits
