Role Summary:

The Manager, Corporate Investigations, oversees the review of exception-based reports to identify all internal dishonesty occurring in the full-line Saks Fifth Avenue stores. This role will investigate all corporate and store-initiated cases fully through to completion. The successful candidate will conduct interviews and compile documents for law enforcement agencies in cases forwarded for prosecution. They will facilitate training for store managers in systems, investigative procedures, and audit standards. This role will aid stores by providing full investigative support to all internal fraud-based investigations, while managing and leading inventory control and shortage reduction programs.

Key Qualifications:

  • 10 + years of experience in the field of fraud investigations required
  • Ability to interpret exception-based reports such as XBR to detect fraud within POS transactions and understand complex fraud schemes while assimilating information quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to train and manage people with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must either know or have the ability to learn Exception Reporting, Case Management, Video Platforms, Remote View, POS Monitoring, and other relevant systems
  • Ability to speak accurately and concisely on facts of complex investigations, and to provide corresponding written communication summarizing these accounts
  • Investigative certification preferred but not required

What You Will Do:

  • Examine exception-based reports to pinpoint instances of internal dishonesty
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations, from initiation to resolution, which encompass thorough interview processes
  • Compile documentation supporting cases for law enforcement agencies
  • Oversee all store-initiated internal fraud-based investigations
  • Develop and train Asset Protection Managers and related store teams on relevant systems
  • Directly participate in store audits to monitor internal loss conditions/identified deficiencies
  • Collaborate with Regional AP Directors, Investigators, and Store APMs to detect fraudulent acts
  • Manage and review restitution and shortage goals, while working closely with Asset Protection and store leadership to identify key trends
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as needed
