Job summary

Gentherm invites students to join its Corporate FP&A Intern program, a supervised internship designed to develop financial skills and expose you to our culture. The 2027 program runs May 17 to August 6, and includes a cohort-style program with 15 other students.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in school and have finished their freshman year by the start of the internship program.
  • Familiar with Microsoft products.
  • Able to be on-site 4 days a week at our facilities in Novi, Michigan.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while taking initiative to work independently when needed.
  • Interest in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, business performance management, or financial systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Corporate FP&A team in monthly forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Partner with finance teams across multiple business units to collect, analyze, and consolidate financial data.
  • Complete a finance automation and artificial intelligence project focused on improving forecasting accuracy, streamlining reporting processes, and enhancing analytical capabilities within FP&A.
  • Analyze forecast-to-actual variances and business performance trends to identify drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including process improvements and reporting enhancements.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and special projects that support strategic decision-making.

Corporate FP&A Intern
IMPACT and OPPORTUNITY

Our Summer Internship Program is a supervised program designed to enhance professional development by providing the chance to "test drive" Gentherm and step into our organization to learn about our culture and career possibilities for your future. Our Summer program formally runs from May 17, 2027 through August 6, 2027.

The interns will follow a cohort-style program with 15 other students, as they navigate learning Gentherm, our Mission, Values, and our Business Goals. The cohort will have the opportunity to interact and learn from Executive Leaders across the organizations through monthly learning sessions, as well as participate in both community and company events.

Students complete a predetermined project related to department goals and the student's area of study. The program is designed to be an experiential learning that integrates knowledge learned in the classroom and practical application in a professional setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Corporate FP&A team in monthly forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes, gaining exposure to company-wide financial planning and performance management activities.
  • Partner with finance teams across multiple business units and functions to collect, analyze, and consolidate financial and operational data used in forecasts, budgets, and management reporting.
  • Complete a finance automation and artificial intelligence project focused on improving forecasting accuracy, streamlining reporting processes, and enhancing analytical capabilities within the FP&A organization.
  • Analyze forecast-to-actual variances and business performance trends to identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities across the organization.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, including process improvements, reporting enhancements, and planning system optimization efforts.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses and special projects that support strategic decision-making and enterprise performance objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be currently enrolled in school and have finished their freshman year by the start of the internship program.
  • Familiar with Microsoft products.
  • Able to be on-site 4 days a week (up to 5) at our facilities in Novi, Michigan
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
