Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active portfolio of 75–125 major gift prospects and donors.
  • Develop cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each prospect.
  • Participate in regular review meetings with leadership to align priorities.
  • Identify new major gift prospects through research and donor analytics.
  • Prepare and present grant proposals to federal, state, local agencies and private foundations.
  • Maintain grant calendar and deadlines for LOIs and reports.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Program teams to ensure compliance and timely reports.
  • Build corporate partnerships and manage sponsorships and donor benefits.
  • Enter and maintain donor data accurately in the donor database.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Development and team to drive major gifts strategy.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate & Foundation Relations Manager is responsible for identifying , cultivating, solicitining , and stewarding major gift prospects and donors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta. This role works collaboratively with the VP of Development, another Major Gifts Officer, and the Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator to secure gifts at the $10,000+ level that advance the mission and sustainability of the organization.

KEY ROLES & ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain an active portfolio of 75–125 major gift prospects and donors.
  • Develop personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for each assigned prospect.
  • Participate in regular review meetings with the VP of Development and colleagues to align approaches and priorities.
  • Identify new major gift prospects through research, referrals, and donor database analytics.
  • Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, and other engagement opportunities
  • Prepare and present gift requests that match donors’ interests and capacity.
  • Proposal Development: Research, write, and submit highly competitive grant proposals to federal, state, local government agencies, and private foundations.
  • Grant Calendar & Deadlines: Maintain and manage the master grant calendar to ensure all letters of intent, proposal deadlines, and reporting timelines are met.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Coordinate closely with Finance and Program teams to ensure strict compliance with grant guidelines and submit accurate , timely progress reports to funders.
Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships
  • Strategy & Cultivation: Build and execute a year-round corporate partnership strategy to secure corporate foundation grants, event sponsorships, and cause-marketing relationships.
  • Deliverable Coordination: Work across departments to coordinate and deliver marketing benefits, volunteer days, and engagement perks promised to corporate partners.
  • Stewardship & Renewal: Manage ongoing relationships with corporate donors, implementing retention plans to secure consistent, long-term renewal revenue.
  • Data Entry & Integrity: Accurately enter and process all donor information, gift records, interaction notes, and touchpoints into the donor database in a timely manner.
  • Database Maintenance: Manage donor profiles to ensure data cleanliness, updating contact details, mailing preferences, and relationship links.
  • Pipeline Monitoring: Regularly update and review pipeline activity, generating database reports to help assess the status of the major gifts program and adjust fundraising strategies.
Collaboration with Development Team
  • Partner with the VP of Development and other Major Gifts Officers to develop a comprehensive major gifts strategy.
  • Share learnings, connections, and best practices across the Development team.
  • Support special campaign efforts and events as needed.
Stewardship & Engagement
  • Maintain regular, meaningful communication with donors and prospects.
  • Develop and implement personalized stewardship plans that deepen relationships and lead to renewed or increased gifts.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer & Engagement Coordinator to connect donors with mission-focused engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and updated records in the donor database (including contact information, correspondence, meeting notes, and gift status).
  • Regularly review pipeline activity and results to assess the status of the major gifts program and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in regular Development team meetings and planning sessions.
  • Assist in planning and attending special events that foster donor connections.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta within the community.
Additional Duties
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in philanthropy and major gifts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the VP of Development.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred OR combination of post‑secondary education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of similar work experience, preferably in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at a high volume.
  • Effective and productive at working independently and taking initiative.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with minimal errors.
  • Strong people and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient use of technology, particularly Microsoft Office Suite applications, spreadsheets , Talent databases, etc .
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills.
ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS

Typical internal office environment.Possible travelto club locations within the Greater Augusta area. Consistent Internal contact with employees, applicants, volunteers, and business partners. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or constantly to lift , carry, push, pull orotherwise.
