Job summary

Worthy.com is seeking a Controller to manage the company’s financial activities for Worthy and Circa Jewels. You will ensure accurate books, timely statements, and streamlined processes across subsidiaries.

The role requires CPA, 7+ years accounting with 3+ years in management, and NetSuite proficiency. In-office in Midtown, 3x weekly, with stock-based compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a controller.
• 7 years of accounting experience with 3 years in management.
• CPA required.
• NetSuite proficiency required; ERP migration to NetSuite preferred.
• Experience in consumer/ marketplace industries preferred.
• Comfortable working across multiple subsidiaries.
• Tech-savvy with a track record of streamlining processes.
• Office in Midtown, 3x a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting and strategic initiatives including revenue recognition, vendor and customer analyses.
• Oversee month-end close, review accounts and journal entries, and generate consolidated financial reports.
• Develop and refine close procedures for consistency and efficiency.
• Document accounting policies and maintain Chart of Accounts.
• Manage AP, AR, cash management, and compliance functions.
• Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and internal controls.
• Collaborate with external vendors and tax advisors for regulatory compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Ensure consolidated results across subsidiaries.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate NetSuite functions.
• Lead the annual audit and lender-required quarterly audits.
• Report to CFO and mentor the accounting team.

The Controller will manage the company’s, and its subsidiaries, financial activities. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the company’s books and delivering financial statements on a timely basis. The right candidate for this role will have extensive accounting experience with a proven history of streamlining processes to improve efficiency.

What You’ll Do

• Lead technical accounting and strategic initiatives, including revenue recognition, vendor analysis, customer analysis, and other special projects
• Oversee the month‑end close process, including reviewing accounts and journal entries, and generating timely and accurate consolidated financial reports
• Build new procedures and refine existing ones to create a more formal, consistent close process
• Create and document accounting policies and procedures, including maintaining the Chart of Accounts (COA)
• Manage core accounting functions such as accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), cash management, and compliance
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, and establish internal controls
• Partner with external vendors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit & loss (P&L), balance sheet, and cash flow reports
• Ensure the accuracy of the company’s consolidated financial results across all subsidiaries
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and automate financial functions within NetSuite
• Lead the annual audit and manage lender‑required quarterly audits
• Report to the CFO; Oversee and mentor the current accounting team of two

What You Have

• Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Accounting required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a controller
• 7 years of accounting, including 3 years of managerial experience
• CPA required
• NetSuite proficiency required; experience with managing an ERP migration to NetSuite preferred
• Prior experience in consumer or marketplace industries preferred

• Ability to work in‑office in Midtown, 3x a week
