Job description

This is a remote position.

Finance Transactions Paralegal, Energy Storage - REMOTE

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)


This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW+ of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.

The Finance Transactions Paralegal will work with the Legal Leadership Team with a key focus on Project Finance and Corporate Financial Transaction initiatives across the organization. It will have key interactions with the Legal Counsel as well as the Renewables Manager of Legal Operations & Corporate Governance. Experience with KYC (Know Your Customer) and financial transaction due diligence is REQUIRED.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes ownership of the financial transaction and due diligence processes related to project development as well as corporate finance initiatives.
  • Leads the KYC (Know Your Customer) process to drive deliverables and tasks driven by project timelines.
  • Works at the Legal Operation Management Team on subsidiary formation, management of statutory jurisdictional compliance filings, state qualifications, and ongoing maintenance of corporate records (including minute books).
  • Provides support during transaction closings, including the management of corporate deliverables and signature page coordination.
  • Facilitates document red-lines, redactions, and contract tracking initiatives.
  • Leads internal corporate administrative tasks such as alignment of organizational growth matrix and corporate governance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a Paralegal, Contracts Analyst, or Legal Assistant supporting financial transactions for Energy, EPC, or Construction related operations.
  • Hands-on experience with KYC process is REQUIRED.
  • Hands-on experience with legal record keeping, contracts management, and document management systems.
  • Well versed in due diligence assessments for land purchases/sales (leases, surveys, titles) and project finance transactions.
  • Ability to draft, review, and amend land, EPC, Project Finance, and Project development agreements.
  • Experience with the formation of business entities, LLCs, and tracking entity structures.
  • Must be an effective communicator with a strong track record managing multiple tasks/projects while meeting business deadlines.
