Job Summary
Located at the Houston, TX / Reston, VA office, the Corporate Expediting Manager provides corporate functional leadership across the client's Global Business Units (GBUs), with a clear focus on influencing business decisions that improve supplier performance, delivery predictability, and project schedule outcomes in accordance with the client's Supplier Quality & Expediting (BSQE), Global Business Unit (GBU), and project procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Functional Leadership — Provides corporate direction for expediting practices, expectations, and standards across GBUs.
- Supplier Performance Influence — Uses expediting engagement to improve supplier accountability, delivery discipline, and recovery execution.
- Delivery Risk Management — Anticipates schedule threats, identifies late-delivery trends, and drives early intervention before impacts occur.
- Data-Driven Decision Making — Converts supplier performance data, workload forecasts, and expediting metrics into clear business actions.
- Cross-Functional Alignment — Connects procurement, supplier quality, logistics, project controls, and project teams around shared delivery outcomes.
- Project SQ and Expediting Engagement — Facilitates greater alignment and engagement across project expediting and project supplier quality teams to enhance efficiencies in supplier performance and delivery assurance.
- Executive Communication and Influence — Clearly communicates risks, priorities, and recommendations to GBU and corporate leadership.
- Resource and Capability Planning — Aligns AEX/PEX staffing, training, and competency development with project demand and supplier risk.
- Governance and Process Discipline — Establishes consistent processes, escalation paths, dashboards, and accountability mechanisms.
- Recovery and Escalation Leadership — Guides supplier recovery strategies, prioritizes critical interventions, and supports issue closure.
- Commercial and Contractual Awareness — Understands how supplier commitments, purchase order terms, and project priorities affect delivery leverage.
- Corresponds as needed with project leadership teams, GBU / regional office functional managers, the GBU functional managers, BSQE, project expediting team, project supplier quality team, project engineering, procurement, quality assurance and construction personnel, and area supplier quality supervisors and regional managers to drive improved expediting delivery for projects.
- Receives operational direction and guidance for expediting strategies from BSQE VP and Corporate Manager of Supplier Quality and Expediting.
- Receives functional guidance from the BSQE Corporate Operations Manager and in some cases BSQE Manager of Regions.
- Provides functional and project-related direction and guidance to project expediting and areas expediting.
Required Skills
- Expert computer skills including Power BI dashboard reporting, SQL, Minitab, SAS, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with major commodities typically procured for Energy, Mining & Metals, Manufacturing & Technology, Infrastructure, and Nuclear projects, including recognized codes and standards and manufacturing methods.
- Extensive experience in providing guidance to PEX and AEX, Digital & Business Analytics Experts, and non-technical support staff as assigned.
- Extensive experience in leadership roles, data analytics, budget estimation, writing technical procedures, and problem solving.
Preferred Skills
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (by the client / ASQ / IASSC / GAQM) preferred.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a reputed university required.
Required Experience
- Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience in expediting, supply chain, or other relevant management activities.
- Minimum 18 years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive project expediting experience with a high degree of complexity, e.g., preparation of detailed plans for use on complete or uniquely designed systems; preparation of full scope workload and budget estimates for proposed big-sized projects; or the establishment of project corrective action(s) to resolve significant impact on project cost/schedule.
- Extensive prior experience in expediting, supply chain, or other relevant management experience on Pre-FEED / FEED / EPC projects, recognized codes and standards, and manufacturing methods.
