Job summary

The Salvation Army New Jersey Division is seeking a Corporate Engagement Manager to implement corporate engagement initiatives, manage a portfolio of partners, and coordinate fundraising campaigns across New Jersey.

You will support proposals, impact reporting, and sponsorship materials while collaborating with marketing and program staff to maximize corporate philanthropy. Travel and leadership in a busy environment are expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience in proposal writing.
  • Understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Extremely organized and able to plan and implement strategies within a complex environment.
  • Very strong analytical skills to analyze data and develop targeted development strategies.
  • Demonstrates creativity and teamwork to craft right contact for funding source.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, Salesforce; training provided.
  • Driver’s license and use of a vehicle; travel across New Jersey as needed.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Able to work extended hours when needed.
  • Willingness to act in an 'as-needed' capacity for emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a process which identifies the needs of The Army and matches those needs to corporate foundation funding opportunities.
  • Support stewardship of a portfolio of corporate partners with timely acknowledgments, engagement, and relationship management.
  • Collaborate to develop renewal and upgrade strategies based on engagement history and priorities.
  • Coordinate corporate participation in divisional fundraising initiatives and events.
  • Research and identify corporate volunteer opportunities and coordinate employee engagement activities.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date list of all corporate contacts in the donor database (Salesforce) and track actions.
  • Coordinate with the Volunteer department to vet and track corporate volunteer groups.
  • Research gifts‑in‑kind programs and coordinate with staff to ensure donations are appropriate.
  • Support writing, editing, and submission of funding proposals, impact reports, and sponsorship packages.
  • Work with Divisional Marketing to highlight partnerships and create collateral.

Overview

The Corporate Engagement Manager (CEM) supports the implementation of corporate engagement initiatives for The Salvation Army New Jersey Division. This role focuses on corporate stewardship, sponsorship coordination, campaign management, corporate volunteer engagement, and cause-marketing support under the direction of the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving.

Specifically, the primary duties are:


  • Develop and manage a process whichidentifiesthe needs of The Army and matches those needs to corporate foundation funding opportunities.

  • Support stewardship of a portfolio of corporate partners, ensuringtimelyacknowledgments, meaningful engagement, and ongoing relationship management through regular follow-up communications.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving to develop renewal and upgrade strategies, informed by engagement history and corporate priorities.

  • Coordinate corporate participation in divisional fundraising initiatives, includingRed Kettle Campaign (including Walmart coordination),Angel Tree Program,Seasonaldrivesand Kettle Kick-Off events.

  • Research andidentifycorporate volunteer opportunities and giving days, and coordinate employee engagement activities in collaboration with Salvation Army facilities,staffand programs.

  • Maintainanup-to-datelistofallexistingcorporatecontactsandpartnershipsandtrackallactionswith these contacts in the donor database (Salesforce).

  • Coordinate with the Volunteer department to ensure corporate volunteer groups are vetted and properly tracked within volunteer systems.

  • Researchandidentifygifts-in-kindprogramsfromcorporations,aswellascoordinate closely with corps, serviceextensionsand program staff to ensure appropriateness of all donations.

  • Support Corps with the writing, editing, preparation, and submission of funding proposals, impact reports, and sponsorship packages for local corporate partners and foundations.

  • WorkwithDivisionalMarketingteamtohighlightcompany’sphilanthropicpartnershipswithTheSalvation Army and create necessarycollateral.

Qualifications
