Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. We are looking for a talented lawyer to join the Amazon Legal team supporting Project Kuiper.

We seek a lawyer who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys continual challenges, and demonstrates sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents (Green Card holders), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as refugees or granted asylum. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Kuiper commercial channel partner contracts, including sales agent and hardware reseller relationships.
• Structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements.
• Counsel the business team on issues arising in sales agent and reseller engagements.
• Develop strategies for handling legal issues creatively and business-centrically.
• Build processes that address risk while allowing business flexibility.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of legal experience.
• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in both corporate law firm and in-house roles.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
