Amazon.com is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its work on M&A and other strategic transactions. The candidate must have a strong M&A background and be able to manage large and complex transactions with tight deadlines, as well as research and advise on transactional and general corporate matters and work effectively with outside counsel.

The role will be Seattle-based, with extended hours when necessary.

Job description

Amazon.com is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support its work on M&A and other strategic transactions. The candidate must have a strong M&A and strategic transactions background and be able to manage large and complex transactions with tight deadlines, as well as research and advise on transactional and general corporate matters and work effectively with outside counsel. The candidate must be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary. M&A, investments, and other transactional experience at a law firm and/or technology company is required. This role will be Seattle-based.

Basic Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
• 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
• Experience with a wide variety of transaction types (e.g., private company, public company, stock purchase, asset purchase, cross-border, minority investments, joint ventures)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in using AI tools to automate and/or increase efficiency in legal-related workflows
• Experience with investments involving technology companies and startups
• 6+ years of law firm and/or technology company experience
• A proven ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous environments

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
