Corporate Counsel - Labor and Employment

Join to apply for the Corporate Counsel - Labor and Employment role at ACC San Diego - Association of Corporate Counsel.

This role is based in Irving, Texas, and is with Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. (CED), one of the largest wholesale electrical distributors in the country, with over 700 locations nationwide. The position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and primarily focuses on labor and employment law, with opportunities in other legal areas.

Responsibilities include:
  • Providing legal advice on employment practices, policies, and contracts.
  • Overseeing employment disputes and investigations involving agencies like OFCCP, DOL, EEOC, and state agencies.
  • Offering legal services in other areas such as contracts, real estate, insurance, and corporate law.
  • Managing litigation and outside counsel to minimize costs and resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Developing training materials and policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Supporting other departments as needed.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission and good standing (TX Bar preferred).
  • Legal advisory experience, especially in employment law and policy interpretation.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and professionalism skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office and legal research software.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Five years’ legal practice, with emphasis on employment litigation or compliance.
  • Experience advising senior management and knowledge of employment law across jurisdictions.
