AXIS Capital is seeking a Corporate Counsel to serve as a generalist supporting the Corporate Secretary’s team, GC, and the broader Legal Team. You will advise internal clients across Finance, HR, Investments, Tax, Treasury, and Vendor Management, with interactions at senior management and Board levels.

As Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a legal generalist supporting the Corporate Secretary’s team, the General Counsel, and the broader Legal Team. You will provide legal support to a wide range of internal clients across the AXIS group, including Finance, Human Resources, Investments, Tax, Treasury, and Vendor Management. The role involves significant independent interaction with senior management and the Board of Directors. As such, it requires exceptional judgment, attention to detail, strong technical skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The ideal candidate will be energetic, adaptable, resourceful, and highly collaborative—able to thrive within a close‑knit team and contribute to initiatives across and beyond the Legal Department. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate to the role.
This role is based in New York, New York and requires being in the office 3 days per week.
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $160,000 - $230,000. Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location. In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
